Who are ‘your five’?

Ironically—for a person who might be more enthusiastic about the benefits of life as a solo pro than anyone else on the planet—I think humans are fundamentally social creatures, and most of us do almost everything better when surrounded by the appropriate support and accountability that only other humans can provide.

If you want to make the most of your talents—in any field—I reckon you should first find your tribe, and then find your five.

Your tribe is the community of folks who represent the kind of person you want to be. A group of people who model the behaviours you’d like to emulate. A group of people among whom, if you do the natural human thing and fit in, you’ll be becoming the person you want to become.

Then, once you’ve found your tribe, find your five.

This the the small crew within your community with whom you share everything. The peeps who’ve got your back, the ones who check in on you, the ones who hold you to the standards you want to be held to.

I doubt there’s an easier or faster path to becoming the person you want to become, than by joining the right tribe, and finding the right five.

(And, of course, if the Solo Pro community seems like it might be your vibe, reach out and let’s have a chat).
