Take action

Was having a chat with a business owner last week who realised that he had been using everything about ‘the situation’ (by which I mean *waves arms at the shitshow which is 2020*) as excuses to procrastinate.

You might have done the same thing yourself at times.

“No-one wants to attend another webinar”.
“They’ll be too busy with work and home-schooling to talk to me”.
“They didn’t reply to my email in March so obviously they’re not interested”.

You know, that kinda stuff. I know you already know this, and I’m not here to teach you how to suck eggs, I just want to warmly, gently, kindly remind you... you don’t have to listen to that voice. You don’t have to identify with that voice. It’s just a voice. It isn’t you.

There’s another voice which is saying things like “I wonder if people would be interested to learn about this?”. “I wonder how they’ve been going since we talked about that?”. “I didn’t hear back from them last time, I’d love to know how they’re travelling”.

That voice isn’t you either, but it often has more useful contributions to make to your daily life than the annoying, cynical, pessimistic one.

Find reasons to take action, rather than excuses not to.
